I can't test this - my SSD machines are too quick at the checking
Comment 3 Peter Sampson 2019-05-29 10:44:33 UTC
Stressed my Mac and W10 SSD machines by geberatin6 a 6 hour mono chiprp exported as WAV and the re-importing aliased.

1) On Mac there is *no* progress dialog and the drawing over the hatching proceeds as expected - with the abilty to click in the hatching to move the immediate waveformn draing ther.

2) On Windows there is a brief flash of a progtess dialog, but that is rapidly/immediately replaced by the hatched bands on the waveform.

There is a slight glitch on Windows in that the waveform drawing does not show till you click somewhere in the waveform (this is a separete Windows bug that I shall test more thoroughly and log later if appropriate).

But given that the title of this bug refers to cancelling the import via the progress dialog - and there is no progress dialog - I shall close this bug as invalid.

The lack of progess dialog may itself be seen as an ENH (to be logged if required) but I think it is not necessary.

There is no progress dialog all the way back to 2.0.0 (I didn't bother testing the 1.3.x Beta series).

The drawing issue on W10 appears to be a regression on 2.3.2

OOPS

on re-reading this bug I realized I needed to test the "Copy" import and not the "alias" import.

And now on both Mac and Win there is a progess dialog and the import can be properly cancelled from that progress dialog.

So re-marking this as RESOLVED FIXED
