Steps To Reproduce:
Click or shift-click in the track control area with right or middle mouse button. In most places, nothing happens, but in the lower left corner, it causes the selected status of the track to change. Probably not intended behavior. See also Bug1133.

tested on audacity-win-ra45f3bb-2.2.0-alpha-22-jul-17
and on macOS Sierra 10.12.6 with 53c3adf 03Aug17 3e39771

On both platforms clicking anywhere in the (blank space) of the TCP yields only the expected behavior. Clicking on the button and sliders produces expected behaviors.

Nite the tha lower left corner of the TCP (as referred to in the steps to reproduce) is now occupied by the contract/expand button - which works as expected.
