I'm not sure what to do about this one. Snap to works fine with some of our dialogs and doesn't work with other. Even ones that are Effect dialogs. Googling it seems to indicate this is not an uncommon problem, even with Microsoft's own apps.

For instance, go into Control Panel (I'm on Windows 10) and go into the "Date and Time" CP. The pointer jumps to the OK button as it should.

Now, try the "AutoPlay" CP. The pointer does not jump to the Save button, even though it is clearly the default button.

Even their Office products get it wrong a lot (as you'll see with the googling).

BUT, if I can just find a pattern in Audacity of which ones DO work and which ones DON'T, then it should be fixable. I just can't make sense of why some do and some don't right now.

Testing on W10 with audacity-2.3.3-alpha-271-d84ab5948d544eec6ba6a648d76d31ef9d5edc88

This is still the case on 2.3.3 alpha

But note that the snap-to setting for the pointer is not default behavior on Widows where this option is turned off by default. It's certainly bot somethng that I would turn on (except for testing this "bug")

I read Leland's comments about even Microsoft themselves bot always getting this right.

I recall no user complaints about this.

I am going to demote this to P5

I can recall of no users ever complaining about this - and in the light of Leland's comments about even Microsoft themselves bot always getting this right - I am going to close this as WONTFIX
