Fixed at 013bcf9635a05589fe875ce45180f5bff090052e

However, if this should be fixed for region labels too, then very different fixes are needed.

Tested on Mac El Capitan d6187f6 21Jun16

The cuusor does move with the point label on Mac now, but it stutters along allittle bit ahead of the label movement and then snaps back to the label when you stop moving the point label.

On W10 the cursor moves exactly in line with the moved point label.

Tested this at varios zoom levels

This is better, but not really good enough - it just looks a little odd.

On Ubuntu 14.04 netbook (slow), drag of cursor in waves is smooth and synchronous with label stem, as on Windows 10.

I see the same asynchronous drag on El Capitan (cursor runs ahead of label stem) that Peter does. I have seen 200 px displacement when dragging fast.

On Windows and Linux I see flickering, narrow grey regions in the label track either side of the label stem when dragging. And on Windows if I drag with the keyboard (mouse emulator), the drag detaches after about a second regardless how slowly and carefully I drag (likewise when dragging a white circle of a region label). So on Windows those points are worse than what we have in 2.1.2.

So if we closed this, given you can now drag a selected point label on OSX/Linux, we'd have to open a new P4 to improve the fix.

Dragging the waveform region with a selected region label is a separate Enh, I assume. Some people want to see the old label boundaries when dragging, so it would have to be discussed.

I too don't think this fix is good enough so I feel it more apt to REOPEN the bug on all platforms. I retitled it slightly from "Cursor no longer moves when dragging a selected point label" to "Cursor does not drag smoothly/label stem shows artifacts when dragging a selected point label".

Tested on 2.2.1

Looks fine on W10 (still) - with both the circle and the angle draggers.

White circle and (the angle draggers) still noticeably lags behind the cursor on macOS - to the extent that precision placement is interfered with.

Tested with point labels and range labels

There is a very slight lag even with Windows but so little there it is not really noticeable - not enough to interfere with precision placement

So marked as Test-OK on Win and not Test-OK on Ma

I don't recall anyone ever complaining about this on the Forum.

In view of Peter's testing and comments (by email),

CLOSED WORKSFORME

There IS a slight lag in MacOS, but too small to worry about.
