Description Peter Sampson 2015-12-16 06:56:31 UTC
Users are confused by the GUI for the plug-in manager. Some of them (including me at times) don't realize that you need to press the "OK" button after you have selected a plug-in and pressed "Enable" (or "Disable") - they expect the Enable/Disable to action immediately.

There is a recent post on the Forum that illustrates this: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=89190&p=293555#p293555

It certainly had me fooled when I was testing it in a pre-release alpha prior to documenting it for the Manual - and it still catches me out still sometimes.

On the Forum thread user Cyrano suggested: "Maybe rephrasing "OK" to "Save" might just do the trick?"

I like that idea - but if we do that we would probably need to do the same in Preferences (and any other similar dialog where changes are made).

To streamline working and reduce bug count I have noted this suggestion in the existing summary bug 1018 and closed this. I think the issue must be that the user escaped the Plug-in Manager, which discards changes.
