Description Peter Sampson 2016-05-22 10:31:04 UTC
On Mac El Capitan 7e0de9a

When running Timeline Quick-Play on Mac and you right-ccki in the Timeline for the dropdown menu (or right click on the Quick-Play button - or left/right clock on the Quick-Play LDPBT) - then the playhead and playline are halted but the playing contiuues uninterrupted.

Once the dropdown menu is dismissed the playhead and playline leap to the current play position.

This does not happen on W10

I've not yet tested the current alpha build on Mac OSX, but it doesn't happen in the March 21 2016 alpha build.
Comment 2 Paul L 2016-06-18 12:28:43 UTC
I think this bug is not specific to OSX
Comment 3 Peter Sampson 2016-06-19 08:01:40 UTC
Doesn't happen on the latest alpha builds on the Macbook Pro El Capitan or on my W10 laptop.

Tested with both un-pinned and pinned playheads, including switching while TQPing
Comment 4 Paul L 2016-06-19 10:25:04 UTC
I am seeing the more serious problem that I do not see the white line at all except when I drag a play region.
Comment 5 Paul L 2016-06-19 13:32:57 UTC
I am declaring this previously fixed. I don't know which commit did it.

(In reply to Paul L from comment #5)
The Steps to Reproduce should be populated, unless trivial.

I don't fully understand the description but the only issue that seems to have been fixed is that left-clicking the small Quick-Play triangle does not now cause the white line and triangle to disappear.

Otherwise I can reproduce the remainder of the bug on all three platforms. In 2.1.2 the white line reappeared after dismissing the Quick-Play right-click menu with ESC or after clicking a choice in that menu. But in HEAD, the white line and small triangle don't come back unless you click again in the Timeline. That is still a regression, so I'm reopening the bug and I changed platform to all.

Also whether Scrub Bar is enabled or not, if you move the pointer below the Timeline, then without clicking, move the pointer back into the Timeline, the white line and its small green triangle do not reappear until you click again in the Timeline. Also a regression on 2.1.2. That is not intended is it Paul? Is it actually the same bug as this?

Please supply an unambiguous title and steps to reproduce so I know what exactly this is. Peter filed it, now Gale is interpreting it.

Comment 9 Peter Sampson 2016-06-20 13:45:30 UTC
Testing on W10 audacity-win-r5c044c0-2.1.3-alpha-20-jun-16

and on Mac El Capitan 5c044c0 20Jun16

I confirm that the TQP white line in the waveform is correctly back - abd it is yellow when Snap To is on.
Comment 10 Gale Andrews 2016-06-20 19:09:24 UTC
I can no longer reproduce the issues I remarked on in comment 6, including in Ubuntu 14.04 at "5c044c0". So I assume it fixed. Thanks, Paul.
