Description Steve Daulton 2016-08-04 07:05:02 UTC
When the Karaoke view has focus, pressing the Shift key has no effect on the Play/Record button icons, thus giving the impression that loop-play is not available.

I've tested this only on Linux.

The problem described here does not exist on Windows or Mac.

In Ubuntu 14.04 (Unity or GNOME Flashback) it is not possible to use shortcuts when the Karaoke window has focus. This was true in 2.1.1 too, so it is nothing to do with wx3.

I don't know how Steve gets shortcuts to work when the Karaoke window has focus. Setting the Karaoke window on top does not make any difference. Do you still have a way to switch to GNOME, Steve, to see if you can then reproduce inability to use shortcuts when Karaoke has focus?

Neither do I. Shortcuts are not now working at all for me when the Karaoke window has focus (Debian Xfce). I'm not aware that I'm doing anything different, but the reported behaviour was 100% repeatable and is now 0% repeatable.

I confirm that is (now) the case with Xfce.

*** STEPS CHANGED (with comment 3) ***
Note - I saw this problem (as described in steps to reproduce) on Windows too, so I assume it had become all platforms, and so have changed that field. I fixed and tested on Windows.

Fix works well on Windows and Mac. I also tried adding a shortcut for scrub and using that to initiate scrub while the Karaoke window still had focus. That was successful. Reverse playback appeared to display as expected in the Karaoke window.

I cannot test in Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) because the focused Karaoke window still does not accept shortcuts. I thought it best to resolve this bug and create a new bug 1658 for the Linux shortcut failure,
