Steps To Reproduce:
1 Generate 30s of audio, select 5s of it anywhere you like, Select > None. 2 Look immediately at the Timeline and Selection Toolbar which still show the previous time range. Play. That displayed range plays then stops playback at the end of the range. 3 However, as soon as you play again, select a track, move the cursor etc, the Timeline and Selection Toolbar are corrected to just show the editing cursor position as intended.

Description David Bailes 2017-03-20 11:06:00 UTC
Immediately after select none, the timeline shows a time range selected for quick play, and the selection times are not updated. However, as soon as you select a track, move the cursor etc, the timeline and the selection times are correct.

Fixed in:
https://github.com/audacity/audacity/commit/879579475d2cbd4271aeea20cf5e9a0459d9c1d6

Note: I'm aware that there has been discussion about what Select none should do, but I wanted to fix the bug anyway.

*** STEPS ADDED ***

Thanks David. I tested a little with multiple tracks and separate clips.

Given subsequent fixes, I tested that if selecting none during standard playback or scrubbing, or selecting none after scrubbing, the Selection Toolbar was still updated immediately and the Quick-Play region was still removed on stopping playback.
