Steps To Reproduce:
Generate some sound. Zoom in so that project does not fit in window. Select some sound. Click at either end of selection, and drag left or right beyond TrackPanel boundaries. The window should auto-scroll. This does work if you are initially selecting, not adjusting an existing selection. It also works if you hold Shift or Ctrl (or Command) while clicking and dragging to readjust.

This was fixed at

https://github.com/audacity/audacity/commit/75becb03f4fdda78e7c88ee3ee5eb286fecadded

I added this bug report after the fact, just to link to it from manual.

(In reply to Paul L from comment #1)
Tested on 2.2.1 RC1 W10-CE

This now appears to work correctly on 2.2.1 RC1

I tested on 2.2.0 as well to confirm the errant behavior
Comment 3 Peter Sampson 2017-11-24 12:12:57 UTC
tested on macOS 10.13.11 High Sierra Mac nightly build of 24Nov17

Also appears to work ok om Mac as intended
