Bugzilla – Bug 1789
Windows exe installer and Mac Installer are both still using the old Audacity Logo
Last modified: 2018-08-20 11:51:45 UTC
The Windows exe installer is still using the old Audacity Logo We updated the Logo for 2.2.0 The installer should be upgraded to use the new logo
This is caused by file win/audacity.ico which hasn't changed since 2010 I look in GIMP and see it's actually many image layers, each showing the old icon with various magnifications, and some sub-pixel half-toning going on in each.

(In reply to James Crook from comment #2) Testing with macOS 10.13.2 with audacity-macos-nightly-2.2.2-f4c8920.dmg - 26.32 MB | version: 2.2.2--23Jan18 Shows that the Mac installation suffers from this too in the Installation dialog that enables you to drag the app from the DMG to the Applications folder
Testing on macOS 10.13.2 High Sierra with audacity-macos-nightly-2.2.2-f5737be.dmg - 26.32 MB | version: 2.2.2--25Jan18 The new Audacity logo with text shows nicely now as the header in the Mac installation dialog. But the logo for the Audacity app (to be dragged over to the applications folder) is still the older darker mini-log - and the same is true of the Audacity icons in the installation folder for 2.2.2 (qnd 2.2.1). Do we want to deal with this as part of this bug - or log a new separate bug for this.
Testing on W10 with 2.2.2 JC008 25Jan18 f5737be02ce24e78e0c7d843d8df57d919aef72b The various mini-windows in the Windows installation all show the new logo Unlike Mac the icons for the audacity app (and download) show the new style logo. So marking as OK on Windows
Testing on macOS 10.13.2 High Sierra with audacity-macos-nightly-2.2.2-60ea8a6.dmg - 27.48 MB | version: 2.2.2--26Jan18 The mac Audacity icons now correctly show the new logo
