Description Steve Daulton 2018-01-01 15:45:39 UTC
If installing a plug-in via drag and drop into a project window fails, the error message says:

"Audacity recognized the type of file '<filename>'.
Try installing FFmpeg. For uncompressed files, also try File > Import > Raw Data."

A simple way to demonstrate the error is to try to drag and drop the "set of over 90 LADSPA plug-ins" (Windows or Mac) from the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/plug-ins/
