Inconsistent behavior when recording with a selection defined
Last modified: 2018-08-20 11:45:20 UTC
Test 1: 1) In a new empty project, define a selection using the Selection Toolbar (easiest to test with a small time selection). 2) Start recording. The recording starts at the start of the selection, padding from time=0 to the start of the selection with silence. Recording continues beyond the end of the selection. Test 2: 1) In a new empty project, add a label track. 2) define a selection using the Selection Toolbar 3) Start recording. The recording starts at the start of the selection, padding from time=0 to the start of the selection with silence. The recording cursor stops at the end of the selection. Recording continues beyond the end of the selection. Test 3: 1) In a new empty project, add an audio track. 2) define a selection using the Selection Toolbar 3) Start recording. The recording starts at the start of the selection, padding from time=0 to the start of the selection with silence. The stops at the end of the selection. Test 4: 1) Turn off "Overdub". 2) In a new empty project, add an audio track. 3) define a selection using the Selection Toolbar 4) Start recording The recording starts at the start of the selection, padding from time=0 to the start of the selection with silence. Sure, but I hate seeing bug reports where the "bug description" says "see steps to reproduce" as the default size of the "Steps to reproduce" box is usually too small to see the full description, and referring to the bug in a reply requires constant scrolling up and down the page. Much easier to quickly see what the bug is about if the "bug description" describes the bug - downside being that bugzilla does not allow the description or comments to be edited.
