On Linux: 1. Start Audacity 2. Observe the console 3. Quit Audacity. Observe: A: Many messages B: Quit by any method produces "OS_IS_BAR (bar)" and "GTK_IS_WIDGET" (widget) assertion errors in the terminal if Audacity is launched from there

On starting Audacity on Linux you may see some unwanted messages in the console

Are we still getting these P1 ASSERTS in Linux builds ?

I'm not seeing ASSERTs, but I do see a LOT of unwanted messages.

Given the vast number of messages, but lack of ASSERTs, I think P3 is appropriate.

I think it should be release noted, as users are unlikely to think that this number of messages is "normal".

Many of the messages in this dump come from wxLogDebug calls, some in Audacity and some in wxWidgets itself.

If these are seen only in debug builds of Audacity, I think that's not a bug.

This simply hides the messages in Release builds since they won't make any sense to general users.  The messages are still produced in Debug builds because we may want to look into them.

Audacity Release build now launches cleanly without masses of error messages.

I assume that developers will still test debug builds, so no need to log the issue  for debug builds.
