Description Steve Daulton 2018-11-03 07:57:36 UTC
Reported (and confirmed) on Windows 10.
Affects Audacity 2.3.0 and 2.3.1 (I've not tested earlier versions, but it is reported to work correctly in 2.2.2).

The bug does not occur on Linux.

When taking a screenshot, the "Screen Capture Frame" dialog briefly disappears, (as it should), but either not long enough, or not at the right time to avoid being included in the screenshot.

Also, the window containing the confirmation "long message"is excessively large so the "OK" button is off screen.

maybe this should be a P3 with a Release Note and a Workaround
Comment 2 Steve Daulton 2018-11-04 16:00:11 UTC
I was thinking borderline P3 as it doesn't affect Audacity as an audio recorder / editor, but it is a regression, so if you want to promote to P3 then that's OK with me.

Probably the best workaround for Windows is the Windows "Snipping Tool".

The problem does not happen for me on Linux or Mac.

Full-screen capture on W10 with 2.3.3 alpha

Testing on W10 with audacity-2.3.3-alpha-271-d84ab5948d544eec6ba6a648d76d31ef9d5edc88

This is no longer the case - the screenshot dialog is now excluded from the full-screen capture.
