1) get a stereo track greater that 6 hours 46 minutes 2) export as 16-bit AIFF 3) observe that it is trapped by an error message but note that the error message only refers to "WAV" and not "WAV and AIFF"(now only in translated locales)

On attempting to export an AIFF file which would be greater than 4GB - ann error trap occurs and an error message is displayed - but the message only refers to WAV and not "WAV and AIFF"

Testing on W10 with audacity-2.3.2-alpha-248-0a0baa39bbbe09fec0a9114ada2bb7aabf2a8035

The error message now contains reference to AIFF as well as WAV

REOPENED and reduced to P5, because in German (and all other languages which translate the message) the message only mentions WAV.

But have you tested it in German, which is the residual of this bug?

Re Comment #5:  It won't be right in German until a German translator has translated the updated English.  But (as a developer) I can confirm that the string to translate now has WAV and AIFF in it.

I've updated the title.  We'll need to keep this bug not closed until we have the German translation.

(I'm picking on German, so we have a definite pass/fail criterion.  Obviously it will be wrong in Swahili for a long time to come)

Testing on macOS 10.14.6 with 2.3.3 alpha jc009

The German language error message is now correct, mentioning AIFF as well as WAV
