Bugzilla – Bug 25
TimeTextCtrl values truncated when screen font is anti-aliased
Last modified: 2018-08-20 11:45:28 UTC
See URL. We need a patch that only widens the TimeTextCtrl when the screen font actually is anti-aliased.
No longer in wiki Release Checklist as of 29th Jan 2010.
Gale: Misunderstanding - bug not fixed and still valid. Was never put on Checklist because we were at the time placing low priority bugs in Bugzilla only as an experiment. Ed: This bug still exhibits. There seems to be some chance that the error is in wxWidgets not Audacity itself. I am not going to look at it again until we compile Audacity with wxWidgets 2.9 although I am planning on checking out 2.8.11 sometime in the next couple days. It is a trivial bug. It is easily "fix" by adding two pixels to the string width when it is calculated; this met with great resistance unless I could only do it when the screen font was anti-aliased -- something I was not able to determine on an OS agnostic basis.
I have no idea how to test this. But I'm thinking that the latest changes to the Sellection Toolbar may weel have fixed or obviated this.
URL is broken and no steps to reproduce. Meanwhile I am on Windows and use anti-aliased fonts all the time without problem. We're entitled to close any bug which does not have steps to reproduce. RESOLVED WORKSFORME
