Bugzilla – Bug 77
Recordings of audio played in Audacity are truncated by approximately 100 ms
Last modified: 2018-08-20 11:51:31 UTC
Testing on Linux I'm finding that the amount of truncation is dependent on the application that is used for playing and the sound system. For example, with VLC I'm losing over 400 ms at the end, whereas with MPlayer I'm losing only 238 samples, and recording from Ardour with Jack audio system it is sample accurate. My conclusion is that (on Linux at least) this "bug" is due to how the sound system handles the playback applications audio buffer rather than an Audacity issue. Unless there's some other problem on other operating systems I think this bug should be "Closed - Invalid".
Created attachment 360 [details] Show slider setting in hover tooltips Adds the slider setting (2 decimal places) to the hover tool-tip. Also sets the "on drag" tool tip to 2 decimal places to match. When dragging a slider the status bar should indicate the initial position of the the slider (as was shown in the "on hover" tool tip) while the "on drag" tool tip displays the current position.
(In reply to comment #2) Sorry, my previous comment and the attachment should have been attached to bug 74. Can attachments be removed?
