Steps To Reproduce:
1. Create a track. 2. Change the project rate 3. Attempt to use noise reduction
Release Note:
GROUP: Effects and Analysis * '''Noise reduction:''' Preview is not possible if the sample rate of the project is different from the rate of the track to be processed - an error message appears "Sample rate of the noise profile must match that of the sound to be processed" (even if that condition is met). Providing the noise profile rate does match the track rate, you can still apply the effect. Alternatively, change the project rate temporarily to the rate of the track.

Description Steve Daulton 2015-02-02 23:05:43 UTC
If the track sample rate does not match the project rate, Noise Reduction preview refuses to play with an error message saying that the track sample rate does not match the profile sample rate.

Tested only on Linux but likely to be all platforms. P4?

Expedited initial categorisation of bug. PX->P4. It's clear it doesn't hold up release.
Comment 2 Gale Andrews 2015-02-03 19:34:51 UTC
It's on all platforms and a regression as Steve noted, so I'm promoting to P3. The trigger scenario is not at all unusual for people importing files.

If the "steps to reproduce" are intended to be the "Release note", it may be worth mentioning that, as a workaround, if you (temporarily) change the project rate to match the track sample rate, the preview will play correctly.

Moved the release note to the correct place and added the other workaround, thanks.

Testing on W10 with Audacity 3.0.0 25ddfc7

This now appears to work fine on W10
a) the Noise Reduction get noise profile works
b) Preview than works on next use
c) Applying the effect works

Also works fin on macOS 10.15.6 with Audacity 3.0.0 25ddfc7

a) the Noise Reduction get noise profile works
